Andrea Hoyos

Andrea Fernanda Hoyos Valderrama studied filmmaking at EPIC in Peru and is completing a master’s in creative film at Catalyst (Berlin). Her first short film, Arrecifes (2017), won the National Short Film Competition. Her debut film Autoerótica (2021), funded by the Peruvian Ministry of Culture (DAFO), explores sexual and reproductive rights in the Peruvian context. She was part of the Berlinale Talents 2023. She focuses on narratives about what it means to inhabit certain bodies, marked by sex and gender.
