anglais Cracow Monsters immediately grabbed my attention. The concept is solid — properly mysterious with a bit of a young adult vibe, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. But after a few episodes, it’s clear that the potential here is completely wasted. You could set this in any random city, and it wouldn’t make a difference. The main character is irritating and unlikable, and the plot? It just sort of meanders without any real consistency or sense. It’s a shame — definitely a disappointment for me. The biggest plus here is the visual style, but that’s about it. ()

anglais I usually love Polish films and series, but sometimes they let me down. The original title, Krakowskie Potwory, confused me because after eight episodes, I still wasn’t sure if the "monsters" referred to various demons or the members of Professor Zawadzki’s group. Both would fit, as the series was full of truly unlikeable characters, especially the main (supposed) heroine. The creators turned the Slavic pantheon into a bizarre oddity and filled the non-story with endless outdoor activities, mostly running, which didn’t really engage me. However, Krakow and its atmosphere were fantastic. ()
