Ontario, 2003. Teenage cinephile Lawrence Kweller dreams of attending NYU’s Tisch School. In order to pay the tuition, he gets his dream job at Sequels, the local video store. Wracked with anxiety about his future, Lawrence begins alienating the most important people in his life, all while developing a complicated friendship with his manager, Alana. A series of painful realizations force Lawrence to become aware of his snobbery and pretensions. (Santa Barbara International Film Festival)

From the title, I was expecting a heartfelt tribute to the craft of filmmaking. Instead, it turned out to be more of a typical indie flick, rather than something packed with film references to delight cinephiles.
