Eric (2024)

anglais Now that's incredibly wasted potential. What initially appears to be a great whodunit about the disappearance of 10-year-old Edgar, eventually turns into a completely bland, uninteresting "disappearance" with a completely bland ending. At first we are introduced to a number suspects, several personal stories are played out and the disappearance seems mysterious, but from the third episode onwards the series loses its momentum and heads into a completely ordinary story that instead of a striking conclusion just sort of fizzles out and mindlessly throws us a denouement. The whole weird mix of ideas doesn't fit at all, from the society's non-acceptance of gays, to the personal crisis and the imaginary Eric, to the corruption of high-ranking people, to the family drama between the leading couple – it's all too overwrought and actually, in the end, completely about nothing, with no idea and without the slightest satisfying resolution. The first episodes aroused enthusiasm, but the last episodes were bad, so I can't really recommend this series... ()

Episode 1 (2024) (E01)

anglais A clever opening that shows us the investigation after the disappearance of 10-year-old Edgar and reveals dozens of paths the plot could theoretically take, all of which so far are sufficiently mysterious, suspenseful and entertaining at the same time. This reminds me of Safe (for me one of the best series), which was pretty famous for its cliffhangers at the end of each episode, and it looks similar here so far. ()
