Poison Ivy isn’t exactly a classic thriller, but it is a film with a certain idea behind it. The fact that the tension is minimal here is another matter. Clearly, making a suspenseful film isn't that simple, even though Alfred Hitchcock managed to do it quite often. True, not every Hitchcock film is straightforward and they tend to also lack surprises, but at least they meet the average standard.
