When I tune into Doc Martin, I'm mostly here for the dry humor. While this episode didn't serve it up as generously as usual, the dramatic storyline more than made up for it. It added new depth to the titular character and provided plenty of explanations. For a lighthearted series, this was a surprisingly solid episode.
