(LaCinetek)

Cold and detached, but captivating in a weird fashion. Cronenberg portrays perversion again with this psychological/psychopathic drama, but this time we see (almost) nothing. The perversion is just hanging everywhere in the air. Irons delivers a brilliant double performance in a very weird and unpleasant film. ()
Cronenberg is a master of the dark corners of our mind, he navigates them like few others and proves to us how skillfully he handles his favorite subject over the years. In each of his films, we witness what is dark in human beings, yet every film is different, new, and unique. When I wrote this review, I hadn't seen the film A Dangerous Method yet, but it was one of the highly anticipated films for me. ()
A very bold and original affair. A film so intricate and complex in its essence that it would make for several stacks of studies from different fields. Psychologically very sophisticated, yet emotionally a bit austere (except for the ending, which is really strong and excellent). And Jeremy Irons gives a truly incredible performance(s). ()
