Le commandant Lassard, qui atteint cette année l'âge de la retraite, vient d'être désigné comme le meilleur chef d'académie de la décénie. Et c'est à Miami, à l'occasion d'un congrès de policiers, qu'il a décidé de fêter son départ. Il a d'ailleurs invité quelques uns de ses élèves à l'accompagner en Floride. Mais son adjoint, l'ignoble Harris, qui rêve depuis longtemps de prendre la tête de la fameuse Police Academy, est aussi du voyage. The fifth part of the police saga lacks both the character of Mahoney and Zed, as well as the setting of the academy and especially the funny scenes, which are really scarce in this case. The setting in Miami, the presence of awkward rather than funny criminals and the rip-offs from the previous episodes already show that the creators have nothing to offer. But it is true that the fifth episode is still a bearable work compared to the previous two. A mostly useless continuation of a franchise that should have stopped after the third film.

I never really liked this installment. Mahoney is no longer there and it's boring without him. The other characters don't have much support; they're just secondary to fully showcase Lassard and Harris. Those you like the most are here just to show that it's still the same series, and to make the viewer glad they're still watching one series. The story is quite boring.
