In modern-day Thailand, witchcraft is not something to be taken lightly. In fact, there are dire consequences if you do. When a millionaire spurns his pregnant mistress, she places a deadly curse on his entire family. Soon, each family member dies in a decidedly brutal fashion. The police are puzzled. But an observant and open-minded reporter might be just the guy to unlock the mystery. This absolutely relentless Thai thriller, making its American DVD debut, boasts enough gruesome and shocking imagery for ten horror films. (texte officiel du distributeur)

anglais Art of the Devil is a film that shares a lot of its plot with the original Japanese film Ringu, including some of the characters. There are even very similar shots here, but it's all a bit more violent and with a different point. Moreover, there is no cassette. However, it's very noticeable how the Japanese have influenced other national cinemas, and how even Thais have tried to create a terrifying horror film. It succeeded even less than half the time. The film is inconsistent and fails to scare throughout its duration; in fact, it manages to do so for only a relatively short part of its runtime. ()
