anglais I think I know what Zucker was trying to get at, but he does it in such a damn unfunny and insipid way that most of the world promptly blasts him with such terrible reviews. Even if you really want a better critique of contemporary America, you also won't find it in Michael Moore’s films. ()

anglais In this movie, the lovable Leslie Nielsen was on it and the fact that it is a parody and practically no obscenities appeared, as is customary in such films lately. David Zucker was a great director and the style of classic parody is evident in this case, but it's not as fast-paced as it used to be. There are a few moments where I honestly laughed, I won't say I didn't. But the whole thing is absolutely insane and only a pig would navigate through it. ()

anglais "It's getting harder and harder to find suicide bombers. All the good ones are dead." Big surprise. I didn't get such fits of laughter as I did during the opening set in Afghanistan by the end of the film (well, except for the video about radical Christians), but An American Carol still entertained me greatly and intelligently by today's poor parody standards. I was glad to see that David Zucker still has "it" and that timing gags is not a dirty word for him. I'd say it's a bit like Monty Python's Life of Brian (and not just because of one scene with a fanatical, unthinking crowd). For it is astonishingly easy to both hate and love the highly satirical An American Carol.__P.S. All Leslie Nielsen fans must watch the credits until the end. ()

anglais It certainly doesn't reach the quality of other parodies or previous episodes, far from it, but there were a lot of hilarious scenes and jokes. In places (quite often for my taste) there were deaf moments and Leslie Nielsen appeared only five minutes, but I still laughed from the heart a few times. ()
