Here, someone really didn't know what they wanted to make - whether a mysterious sci-fi film, a disaster movie, or a human drama. The problem is that none of those work. The opening is too drawn out and basically nothing happens. We're introduced to characters we're not interested in, and then we spend over an hour watching something that doesn't even entertain us. Not a single storyline is properly concluded, not only because they are all poorly written and directed.
