À la périphérie d'une petite ville du Maine. Une soirée qui s'annonçait paisible est interrompue brutalement lorsque Seth voit son meilleur ami Mark disparaître dans un éclair de lumière bleue. Deux ans plus tard, Seth peine à se remettre des conséquences de ce terrible accident, d'autant que les soupçons continuent de peser sur lui. I root for every cheap indie flick, and I was hoping Almost Human would be better, even if this style of straightforward slasher flicks from the 1980s is not precisely my cup of tea. What I missed the most was perhaps some mystery around the transformed main character, some ambiguity. But that’s not the case here at all. The script is about nothing. Slightly funny. 5/10

Almost good, very good! I'm pleasantly surprised how solid an oldschool romp Almost Human is. Since I love gore, I enjoyed this intense sci-fi ride from start to finish. I recommend it to lovers of blood. 70%.

Almost Human isn't a film that should signify a complete revolution in cheaper productions, but it's certainly not a film that the creator underestimated either. It's evident that there was a genuine effort to achieve the desired effect in Almost Human, an attempt to approach a fairly classic story in a slightly different, more intense way, and to add some intriguing and gritty scenes to it. The result turned out very well in the end, and even though it might not succeed in movie theaters, avoiding this film would be a shame.
