Season 1 (2014) (S01)

anglais I really enjoyed the first season of Fargo. Oddly enough, I didn't mind it when there was almost zero plot sometimes, unless it came right after an action-packed episode. The entire first season was dominated by Billy Bob Thornton and Martin Freeman, followed at some distance by Colin Hanks. I'm a little sorry that Keith Carradine’s character didn't get more screen time. Otherwise, I was very happy with the first season and had a good time. ()

Le Dilemme du crocodile (2014) (S01E01)

anglais The first episode kicks off the series in a fantastic way. The creators nailed the atmosphere and subtle tension, ramping up to a brutally action-packed conclusion that perfectly sets the stage for what's to come. Casting Billy Bob Thornton as Lorne Malvo and Martin Freeman as Lester Nygaard was a stroke of genius — they bring their characters to life brilliantly. I'm hooked and ready for more! ()

Le Prince Coq (2014) (S01E02)

anglais The pace slowed down a bit, but I still found some promising moments that will surely develop in future episodes. The pair of guys from Fargo investigating Hess's murder seem very intriguing. Once again, Billy Bob Thornton and Martin Freeman deliver outstanding performances. ()

Embourbés (2014) (S01E03)

anglais The story of the frozen man kicked off the third episode, and even though this one wasn't packed with action, I'm enjoying the series more and more. I even appreciate all the constant debates. I do miss Malvo's sneaky antics with unsuspecting townsfolk, though. Besides the previously mentioned stellar performances, I have to give a shout-out to Colin Hanks for his great performance. ()

Toutes les nuances de vert (2014) (S01E04)

anglais I've really come to love the pre-title scenes that explain parts of the story leading up to the current events. The plot moved slowly again, but it was brought to life by Lorne Malvo's arrest and Lester Nygaard's intriguing experiences. Mr. Numbers and Mr. Wrench didn't disappoint and continue to be a source of great entertainment for me. ()

Les Dix Plaies de l'Egypte (2014) (S01E05)

anglais After the story of how Lester got the shotgun, the fifth episode felt a bit slow. Everything was running smoothly as usual, but it lacked a spark to keep things lively. Without it, the episode had a slightly sleepy vibe. ()

L'Âne de Buridan (2014) (S01E06)

anglais The slow pace of the previous episodes was replaced by intense action and the transformation of Lester from a timid nobody into a cold, calculating manipulator. As if that wasn't enough, Lorne Malvo set up an ingenious distraction and had an entertaining encounter with the two men from Fargo. This episode was a thrill from start to finish. ()

Qui rase le barbier ? (2014) (S01E07)

anglais Another standout episode. Lester Nygaard's transformation continues to intensify, much to the dismay of Mr. Hess’s widow. Lorne Malvo’s efficient and brutal actions in Fargo need no further comment — they were spectacular. The atmosphere, tension, and action were all top-notch, and the story has picked up an excellent pace. ()

L'Accumulation (2014) (S01E08)

anglais After the brilliance of the last episode, this one was a bit of a letdown. The slow pace returned, and there was almost no plot development except for the "one year later" jump and some family changes. The story felt stagnant this time, but I'm hopeful for a significant improvement in the upcoming episodes. ()

Le Loup, la Chèvre et le Chou (2014) (S01E09)

anglais After the breather in episode eight, this one came back with brutal action and a gripping plot. As a bonus, Lorne Malvo threw in one of his seemingly harmless but devious schemes. Lester's cold-blooded decision at the end completed his transformation into a despicable monster. His character development is among the best I've seen in any TV series. ()

La Fourchette de Morton (2014) (S01E10)

anglais I didn't think the creators would deliver a weak finale, and they didn't disappoint. The season's conclusion was exactly what I expected – a perfect blend of atmosphere, tension, and gripping action. An excellent end to an outstanding first season. ()

Season 2 (2015) (S02)

anglais Season 2 of Fargo surprised me more than I'd expected. I thought I would sorely miss Lorne Malvo and Lester Nygaard from the first season, but the opposite was true. The creators went back in time, bringing daddy Lou, the tragicomic Blumquist couple, and terminator Ohanzee Dent, and launched a war between two mob families. As usual, they didn't forget to add great atmosphere, tension, brutal action and a whole series of situations in which characters died completely unnecessary deaths caused by sheer stupidity. The only problem I had was with the appearance of a UFO. On the other hand, I was absolutely thrilled by how the two seasons were linked. What a great series! ()

En attendant Dutch (2015) (S02E01)

anglais Season 2 hit all the right notes for me right from the start. It served up a hefty dose of dark humor, a promising storyline, and introduced us to a young Lou Solverson. What really excites me is that it looks like we're finally going to get an explanation for the Sioux Falls massacre, which was teased multiple times in the first season. The creators didn’t hold back on the action either, making this a strong start to the season. ()

Au-delà des lois (2015) (S02E02)

anglais The pace slowed down significantly, but the episode still maintained the atmosphere. Action scenes were almost nonexistent, but the story was kept interesting by Mike Milligan and his crew, as well as Ed Blumquist's meticulous cleanup efforts. After watching this episode, I decided I'll only be grinding my own meat from now on, just to be sure of the ingredients. ()

Le Mythe de Yaya Yayo (2015) (S02E03)

anglais The overall pace remained too slow, and once again, action was almost nonexistent. The only highlights were the debate outside the Gerhardt residence and the farewell to Skip. I have to admit, I'm a bit disappointed; after the first episode, I had higher expectations. ()

Stupeur et tremblements (2015) (S02E04)

anglais The atmosphere really thickened, and even though the episode wasn't exactly action-packed, the pace picked up a bit compared to the previous ones. True, there was a lot of talking, but this time the conversations, plans, and hidden threats kept me engaged. I was thoroughly entertained. ()

Le Cadeau des rois mages (2015) (S02E05)

anglais Finally, the Fargo I was eagerly anticipating. The intense and brutal action suits this series perfectly, and Reagan's campaign tour was just the cherry on top. The atmosphere was spot on, the tension kept building masterfully, and the action was fantastic, especially with the addition of pitch-black humor. ()

Rhinocéros (2015) (S02E06)

anglais The atmosphere is still fantastic. The Gerhardt's trip to town brought a unique tension, keeping me on edge about whether someone would snap or everyone would keep their cool. I especially understood why Karl's pants were in such a state. It finally clicked why the creators sometimes reference UFOs — Blumquist and his wife behaved like aliens during their interaction with the police. ()

C'est toi qui a fait ça ? Non, c'est toi ! (2015) (S02E07)

anglais This episode shifted gears, focusing primarily on the clash between the two mafia families. It became clear that both sides had internal issues to resolve. I had a great time watching, especially since I finally learned where Molly Solverson from season one got her bulldog tenacity. ()

Loplop (2015) (S02E08)

anglais The creators nailed it again — atmosphere, tension, and action were all spot on. What stood out most for me was Peggy Blumquist's character development. Her transformation into "Positive Peggy" and her knife skills were truly entertaining. On the darker side, Ohanzee Dent's psychological shift was equally compelling. Fantastic episode. ()
