A smilingly effortful narrative that so far you can see right through. The impression is incredibly sterile and mechanical. Unsympathetic templates instead of characters (perhaps that is the intention, but it doesn't work). The only thing missing is Johnny Cash at the end. Wait. He’s there. Much ado about nothing so far. A very decent start. The poorly written western setting contrasts beautifully with Harris's killer. Hopkins is brilliant. The final diagnosis, or talking about God and Shakespeare with dad is chilling. Give me more! ()
The first episode threw me right into the heart of the action, without me knowing what was happening. Fortunately, the plot began to unfold before I fell into a state of absolute confusion. I was surprised by the contrast between the calmness and sterile cleanliness of the laboratories, which is juxtaposed with the brutality and brain-shooting of the Wild West. As a whole, it creates a perfect effect. Sure, I know "Paint It Black," but I've never heard it instrumentally like this. ()
