Attack of the Mushroom People is a film that does not follow the traditional Robinson myth, but it still successfully depicts psychological suffering, paranoia, and the overall difficulty of the situation. This allows the viewer to grasp the challenges of the situation and feel the tension of what might happen next. It's a bit of a departure from classic kaiju films, but certainly not a departure in a negative sense.
