GLOW (2017)
A brilliantly balanced mix of comedy and drama, from the first episode of the first season to the tenth episode of the third season I had a great time and enjoyed the plot of the entire show and the stories of the individual heroes and heroines, stories I gradually saw through their eyes. The characters are really well written and acted (Alison Brie and Marc Maron excel, and yet it almost doesn't seem like they're trying – they're just naturals), they do and experience unexpected things, which of course always make sense or have meaning at some point. For example, the creators have no problem hinting at something in the first season, then subtly reminding us of it from time to time, and only fully revealing it in the third season... In addition to all this, I appreciate that this 80s disco series manages to so unobtrusively draw attention to various topics that are still pertinent, yet without moralizing. I really enjoyed it.
