A general store teeming with various beautiful stories could be a miraculous place where past and present can talk to each other. As Namiya says, it is to identify the net. The net in the movie is called "the miracle of the general store" because it doesn't need any historic figures. Instead of being a star, life raises a child who will become a star. A child from the future advises an adult in the past who follows an irresponsible life. A letter makes such things possible in the store. Since a small action causes another action, and another, protecting the children's future, the map of time in the store grows up without any heroes. Everybody is a miracle and has their own traces and responsibilities in this store. An orphanage and the store the time map faces is the place people with love initiated everything. If it reaches there, the time map starts to transcend the social ranks, beyond the blood relationship. While crossing the time barrier, the movie guides us to cross social ranks and familism.
