anglais I love espionage themes, especially those depicting the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, which isn’t often featured in films or series (Spielberg’s Munich still leads the pack, let’s be honest). Chan-wook Park once again relies on his flair for perfect audiovisuals. In The Little Drummer Girl, viewers are treated to fascinating camera angles (luxurious!), and a play with colors (especially green, yellow, and red) that subtly reveals the protagonist’s mental state. Michael Shannon stole the show with a performance so confident that I haven’t seen anything like it on television in a long time. But Florence Pugh was not far behind him. The plot offers gripping moments, particularly towards the end. While there’s no action, the final sequence pulls no punches. The story could have been a bit more cohesive, but fortunately, the dialogues elevate it significantly. I give it 8/10. ()
