(Ici Radio-Canada)

anglais I must admit, the start of the series was incredibly promising. The pilot was quite fantastic, and the ending was a nice cherry on top. The main character was immensely likable, and viewers were rooting for him to get out of the mess and have the truth come to light. The other actors also delivered strong performances; Brendan Fraser, in particular, pleasantly surprised me. However, the pace of the plot gradually slowed, leading to more tedious dialogue sequences that didn’t advance the story but instead dragged out irrelevant details. This clearly didn’t benefit the series, and if anything, it hurt it. When I think of an espionage thriller, I expect lots of action, a chilling atmosphere, and a plethora of unexpected twists. There was a bit of each here, but it wasn’t memorable enough, which is a real shame. It doesn’t compare to the classic film with Redford in the lead, where everything worked like a Swiss watch. The new Condor feels more like everyday watches—functional but lacking in precision. The ending felt quite rushed. I give it 66%. ()
