Août 1945, 300 enfants sont transportés de Prague vers Calgarth, près du lac de Windermere, une des régions les plus isolées de l'Angleterre. Most World War II stories end with the war's conclusion, but what happened next? This film explores that question with a very compelling narrative. A group of rescued Jewish children is taken to the middle of the English countryside, where efforts are made to create better living conditions for them. This brings up various thoughts and questions that each of them grapples with. The story is captivating and, by the end, deeply emotional. It’s a beautiful, intimate, and understated film — typical of English cinema.
