In this slapstick comedy of errors, the Hollander family's European vacation is interrupted when their plane is forced to land in communist "Bulgaria." Hollander leaves the plane to take pictures which result in this caterer being mistakenly accused of spying. Chased by "Bulgarian" soldiers, they are rushed to the American Embassy where their "political asylum" begins to feel more like a comedic "insane asylum" because of the ambassador's inept son who was left in charge.
