In 1908 Henry Ford dreamt of a world where everyone could own a car. Today that vision has almost come true. Cars cause more than a million deaths annually in road accidents and an even higher number as a result of the pollution they generate. This data turns Ford’s dream into a nightmare. Cars have gone from being a means of transport to a symbol of independence and status. It is another member of the family, a style of life, an addiction. (RTVE)
