A murder has been committed in a block of flats in Pest. Almost all the dwellers of the building behave in a suspicious way at the beginning of the investigation, although it is their everyday lapses they try to hide. In spite of the janitor's unpleasant comments, light is gradually thrown upon the case. Dr. Szilágyi's silent relationship by side of a wife made wealthy has so far been covered up by the amorous singer, Poós. Due to an incident, the pair must meet at Szilágyis'. Mrs. Szilágyi wants to get rid of her husband, therefore she asks her lover to break into their home. She plans to blame the theft on her husband. The victim is therefore Mrs. Szilágyi's female friend who has been killed by the lover caught in the process of breaking into the apartment. And the murderer is no one else but the only person cordially helping the investigation from among the dwellers, i.e. the nice Mr. Bakáts. (texte officiel du distributeur)
