Czech TV's miniseries begins with a change of leadership at Palacký University in Olomouc. The Faculty of Arts has a new, female dean, who decides to shake things up and eradicate sexual violence. Her efforts escalate as a female student is murdered on campus. Building on the foundations of comedy and crime show genres, director Jan Hřebejk and screenwriters Petr Jarchovský and Michal Sýkora address changing gender and social roles and contribute the societal debate with this four-part miniseries. ()
No matter what anyone says, this series is successful mainly because of the way it works with genres. The first two episodes were hell for me, but after I accepted the creators' game I started to enjoy it. A lot of things don't make sense and you wonder what the hell is going on, but that's the charm of this series. Even though the series quite purposefully attack different groups of people, it's especially frustrating for those who see themselves in it and can't admit it. This series are not something one would watch out of boredom, but as a look into working with genres and satire, it's great. ()
