Severance

The intriguing premise is somewhat undermined by the main characters' lackluster and sycophantic nature. Luckily, John Turturro and Christopher Walken occasionally break through with their sharp dialogue, clearly marking the standout moments from the less remarkable ones. Despite my initial indecision about continuing with each episode, I eventually made it to the end of the first season. I'm still on the fence about diving into the second season, though. The show has immense potential to evolve into something where things actually start happening. However, the first season's minimalism didn't fully convince me of that just yet. (17/04/2023)

The series offers a unique perspective on corporate culture and explores the consequences of separating work and personal life in a way that is both unsettling and fascinating. The cinematography and visual style enhance the claustrophobic atmosphere and tension, while the surprisingly captivating soundtrack perfectly underscores the dark and mysterious tones of the story.
