The Philadelphia Experiment (2012) (téléfilm)

anglais Another relatively ordinary inspiration filmed by the Philadelphia Experiment just to make it interesting, to include something from real history. I guess I'll really have to find some document that focuses on this topic because no movie has brought me what I wanted so far. Some mysterious drama. Just action all the time. But this is also quite average.

The Grandmaster (2013)

anglais Visually beautiful, the fights here are interesting and I think the film holds quite well to reality, although it stylizes everything. This is a film that will truly be enjoyed the most by those who appreciate the Asian way of life and love martial arts films. This is truly about art and it is presented as such. Beautiful combat, but it is not so spontaneous. After all, it mainly focuses on visual impressions and whether you appreciate the depth that exists in the life of someone who practices martial arts.

Philadelphia Experiment II (1993)

anglais Building a weak fairy tale on the Philadelphia Experiment simply doesn't work. It's just a story about a changed past and a completely new development on Earth. To make it cool, Nazis are added to the mix, but otherwise, it's like an episode of some overcooked TV series. A happy ending is then obvious.

De rouille et d'os (2012)

anglais A very strong and yet seemingly ordinary story at first glance. A pair of very incompatible people come together based on circumstances that are definitely not favorable. Nevertheless, a strong bond can form between them, which will help both of them. The complexity of human relationships knows no limits.

Elefante (2011)

anglais This is exactly why I believe short films can be excellent. There is an idea and a concept communicated, there is a great mask that is the centerpiece of the whole story, and finally there is also a stylization that gives it the right atmosphere. This is not seen in every short film. "Elefante" managed to entertain me and also move me. Well done.

The Garden of Steven (2012)

anglais This is 22 minutes (including the end credits) that will tell you absolutely nothing. It almost appears to be an interesting romance, but it's actually a bit of a search for God and oneself. It's not interesting how it presents itself and in the end, it's exactly like the hero. Actually, it doesn't even know what it wants to say and what it believes in.

Filosofija noža (2008)

anglais Andrey Iskanov did not shoot a film that had any significant value. The information provided to us is essentially identical to what you can find on Wikipedia. Definitely do not consider it as a documentary about the time and events. Yes, what is presented here could have happened, but I doubt it is based on any testimonies. Even a single witness looks unreliable. The scenes of experimentation (meaning torture) themselves are sometimes quite weak, and there are films that are technically more realistic and therefore more disgusting. That is only because the film primarily focused on disgust and its depiction.

Zotz! (1962)

anglais I regret those bad cuts, which are quite plentiful here. They spoil the overall impression of this Castle "horror" comedy. William Castle is a legend in this field because he knew how to play with the film and the audience like no one else. "Zotz!", just by its title, is another example of his strange mastery. Castle's humor suits me and I also liked it in this essentially forgotten film.

Sur la terre des dinosaures, le film 3D (2013)

anglais Animation and graphics are definitely strong points, but that's about it. The visuals of the BBC documentaries - BBC was also involved in this film - seemed much more visually appealing and, above all, more mature. Their informative function was very well-executed. In this case, that's fine, but the story is terribly cliché and even the dinosaurs themselves can't save it.

Veronica Mars (2014)

anglais I was quite surprised that the movie is understandable even for those who have never seen the series, which is also my case. It is also an introduction where basic information is briefly and simply summarized. The whole movie is then one case that Veronica and her friends solve, a little bit of her future is also discussed, there is a sense of nostalgia in it, but only fans will truly appreciate it. In the end, it's a fairly enjoyable movie that won't offend, but probably won't impress much either.
