A series that really only picks up at the end. What a shame. The potential was in completely different realms. But Dark Matter certainly doesn’t bring any disgrace to the sci-fi genre. Not at all. The central theme of parallel realities isn’t something viewers see every day. Yes, the creators didn’t fully exploit it as I would have hoped in an ideal world. However, there are still some interesting moments and script decisions. Especially the climactic ending I mentioned earlier was truly thrilling. As for the acting? Joel Edgerton has his typical performance. Playing multiple characters from the perspective of one actor is certainly no easy feat. A solid genre piece for a single viewing. Just don’t expect anything extraordinary. I give it a 6.5/10.
