In the wake of the 2005 terrorist bombings, Elisabeth (two-time Academy Award®-nominee Brenda Blethyn), a widow from a small farming community, travels to London in search of her missing daughter. As she cautiously navigates a world unlike her own, she repeatedly crosses paths with Ousmane (Silver Berlin Bear-winner Sotigui Kouyaté), a Muslim man attempting to locate his missing son. Before long, Elisabeth and Ousmane come to the shocking realization that their children share a connection, and if they have any hope of finding answers, they must put aside their cultural differences and work together. Un film sensible et spirituellement mûr qui ne critique personne (les terroristes) ni quoi que ce soit (la politique), et ne sympathise sincèrement qu'avec les gens ordinaires, avec leur douleur face à la perte insensée de leurs proches. Brenda Blethyn n'a besoin d'aucun commentaire, Kouyaté captive par son expression individualiste et, ensemble, ce duo improbable crée un choc inoubliable d'émotions, d'attitudes et de compréhension mutuelle.
