anglais Igor Chaun's film is not a documentary about the life and work of the well-known fashion designer, but rather about the preparation of a fashion show in the center of Prague. Blanka Matragi comes across as somewhat narcissistic and pretentious, traits often seen in artists from her industry. Moreover, it's evident that she consciously contributes to the myth surrounding her persona in the Czech Republic. Honestly speaking, she is well-known and respected only in the Czech Republic; on a global scale, completely different brands dominate the fashion industry, and in the Arab world where she has worked, there are dozens if not hundreds of similar firms. This fact doesn't change the reality that she is an interesting artist who manages to sustain herself in the industry and can rightfully be considered a star in the small Czech pond. Unfortunately, Chaun's film is superficial. Despite occasional glimpses of truths about the fashion industry under layers of banality and showcasing faces and confessions of snobs or attractive models, it doesn't offer anything new that we haven't already known or learned better from other sources. Overall impression: 45%. ()
