The film follows three related but not intertwined stories set in Mumbai. The first one is about Suyash, a middle-aged man who wins the "Fun Committee Award" in his office, entitling him to a whole day full of fun at the shopping mall, which seems to turn out terribly wrong. The second story focuses on Anil, a domineering head of the family who is on life support; his family, seeking relief, decides to buy a TV set, which Anil had banned, and now plugs into a popular soap opera every night until sudden news arrives that Anil's condition has improved miraculously. The third story centres on Aarti whose repetitious existence is making her increasingly mechanical and numb. Then, one day, a most intimate letter arrives and everything changes for her. Shuttling between the absurd, the comic and the tragic, the film stands out for its surrealistic vision of a quasi-modern world that is rooted in the realities of everyday life. (IFF Bratislava)
