anglais The documentary focuses more on Nicolas Anelka's personal life throughout his active career rather than the events on the pitch. Perhaps that’s why I ended up quite liking it; you get to see the player from a more human perspective. It’s well-made, and I learned quite a bit. Among other things, it reinforced my view that he remains a footballer with unfulfilled potential. It’s a shame because he had such talent, and he definitely had the ability to showcase more of his technical virtuosity to the world. I give it 75%. ()

anglais Anelka and friends talking about Anelka and his complicated career full of controversy. Or, from the perspective of those friends, full of misunderstanding. If you get past the bias and don't look for the denominators “every year another, usually worse, milestone" and the missing counter-opinions, then this is a well-presented view of the career of a football mercenary who left a bad taste “of a footballer from God. If he had wanted to, he could have accomplished a lot", but in talking about all those transfers and incidents he still, even now, sticks to his attitude of “I wanted to, but it was THEM". An example of selfishness hidden behind a veil of fake humility after all these years. And completely unwanted, because the filmmaker is clearly on Anelka's side. ()
